Understanding How To Hypnotize Is Challenging

By Trevor Johnson

Learning how to hypnotize is something that anyone can learn. It is amazing just how powerful the human mind is and in fact, experts opine that the human brain is only used to about ten percent of its true capacity. Yet the mind is a lot more powerful than the most powerful computer known to man. If we can learn to utilize our brains by another ten to twenty percent of its total capacity the results would be truly amazing.

Even so, how well a subject responds to hypnosis does depend on the way that the subject responds to the suggestions made by the hypnotist. In addition, the subject's own beliefs and their trust as well as confidence in the hypnotist also play a role in whether or not the hypnosis will work or not.

Before learning how to hypnotize you need to first ensure that you do in fact understand that all the things that you tell the subject prior to the hypnosis process will have as much importance as the things you say during the hypnosis. Also, before hypnotizing a person you need to ask them whether they have been hypnotized earlier and if so, what their experience was. This information will help you to choose the best methods of hypnotizing the subject.

Normally, a person that wishes to quit smoking will find it almost impossible to achieve their goals through using conventional methods. However, if these same people are hypnotized into believing and being instructed to quit smoking the chances of their finally kicking the butt will improve radically.

Next, you have to ask the person to be patient and when telling them this you need to ensure that you use a voice that is soothing and very calming. Ask the person to be patient and to also take in about ten deep breaths of air. At the same time you should ask the person to count out loud each time they take in their breaths. You must also count the breaths and in addition you must tell the person to be patient and forget everything that is making them feel worried.

Having completely occupied the conscious mind it is then very easy to speak to the person's subconscious self. All it takes in order to master the art of hypnosis is to follow a few simple steps and to practice the art as often as is possible. Once you have mastered the basics of hypnosis you can then, with practice, become adept at hypnotizing people.

One method that can prove to be very effective in helping you to hypnotize people is to learn to relax the subject's eyes which in turn need to be kept shut throughout the initial induction into the hypnotic state. Once the subject has relaxed their eyes you have to encourage a more relaxed state of being which should permeate the entire body of the subject.

After this you can ask the individual to open their eyes and focus on something on the wall in front of them. They must then try staring at a particular spot and also listen to your instructions which should state that the subject is staring at the wall and is also becoming increasingly relaxed. Lastly, you have to ask the subject to close their eyes when they are ready.

Of course, there are several other methods that are worth exploring as well. However, using the relaxation of the eyes method is most effective and also the most used. Of course, after you have learned how to hypnotize, you can then pick a method that you feel the most comfortable with. - 31857
