Confidence Producing NLP Sales Technique

By Ryan Camana

NLP sales is based on modeling excellence in behavior and attitude. An intricate aspect of NLP is to keep a physiology of excellence at all times. This excellent physiology needs to be modeled from someone who is exceptional at what they do. The modeling process can take time. What if I could give you a simple gesture that ALL people instinctively use when they are in a winning mood?. This is a simple gesture which can totally turn your emotions around in an instant.

We'll get into the actual mechanics of the gesture in just a minute. First a little background as to how this was discovered and what it really means. In NLP there is a technique called a pattern interrupt. Of course it sounds complicated but really its quite simple. A pattern interrupt occurs any time you're doing something routine and that routine is interrupted. Lets say your driving to your office. You're thinking about what you need to get done that day. Running the same pattern you do every morning. Then out of no where a tree crashes down in front of you. This is where the magic of a pattern interrupt occurs. Your normal routine has been interrupted and you have the choice about how to react to the situation.

How about making the decision that you're glad to be alive. That tree could have landed right on top of you had you been just a few minutes earlier. Think of how lucky you are to have missed it.

That pattern interrupt is exactly what you need to change the emotional state you're in. When the pattern is interrupted your unconscious mind has to go to your conscious mind for instructions.

"Please tell me what to do," your unconscious mind is begging.

Like driving, most of your life is spent on autopilot. The unconscious mind runs its programs and patterns only looking for guidance when a decision needs to be made.

Ask yourself, what do people do when they accomplish something. Either they throw their fists in the air, or they pull them back into their sides. You've seen it before. Everyone uses the fist pump instinctively. Reading an article in science daily, I discovered that even blind people use the fist pump. Pretty amazing that its so ingrained in our culture. It doesn't actually matter which particular move you make, fists up or pulled into the sides. Either one will instantly give you the feeling that you're successful at whatever doing. Instant winners state.

I use this pattern interrupt nlp technique all the time. Especially when I get frustrated at some sales presentation I'm working on. When I'm just burning with frustration I'll throw my fists in the air and shout "Yyeeessss!" It works every time. That gesture makes me feel like I just accomplished whatever it is I am working on. I've even done it in front of other people by acting like I'm stretching and screaming "Yeeaaahh" inside my head.

When I first learned this technique I thought everyone would think I had finally lost it. The exact opposite occurred. I'd do this technique and everyone around me would want to know what was so exciting. People are so anchored with this gesture that they all wanted to join in on my success. - 31857
