Benefits Of NLP Rewind Technique

By Trevor Johnson

The human brain has posed serious challenges to scientist and despite the advancements in biology, the scientists are not fully aware of it. However, psychologists have done several experiments and found many therapies that help in enhancing the mental and emotional capabilities. The rewind technique is one such therapeutic technique, which is based on a system of therapy known as Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP).

This technique helps people to overcome the phobias that haunt them throughout their lives. Whether it is the fear of heights, fear of water, fear of animals, this technique though very uncommon promises to help people overcome their phobias through a unique process.

This method used in this technique is that the psychologist conducts a session with the patient and following the usual methods in the start, that is, asking the patient to relax, lie down and then continues to ask the patient to relive the event or incidents from which the phobia started or the events or situations that trigger the phobia.

It helps the patient is the sense that he doesn't have to actually use words to tell the psychologist that embarrassing or traumatic incidents again and again. Secondly, the patient can actually detach himself from the anxiety he feels at the time when his phobia triggers.

It is important to choose a psychologist who has a practical experience of this technique because this technique is relatively new and not everyone has the skill set to perform it properly. A good psychologist will be able to lessen your phobia or even completely eradicate it in just one sitting.

Although, the rewind technique has yet to become common but the technique is a promising one. It is great for a patient in the sense that it becomes effective in a short time and the patient is saved from the monotonous task of repeating embarrassing incidents that started the phobia to the psychologist. The patient can do his therapy himself with the psychologist just instructing. - 31857
