What To Do When You're Learning How To Do Hypnosis

By Trevor Johnson

Looking for tips on how to do hypnosis? Here is an easy method to use that will help you learn how to put someone under hypnosis. There are many reasons why someone may want to be put under hypnosis including addictions and phobias. When you are going to hypnotize someone, make sure that you have their permission first. This is a serious procedure and should not be taken lightly by either party.

The first thing that you need to do is find a dark, quiet place to do the hypnosis. You'll need a relaxing atmosphere where there won't be any noise or interruption. Have the person get in a comfortable position, usually lying down is the best. This will allow for enough time to pass as is necessary to have the person go under hypnosis and not fall over or get uncomfortable.

The subject needs to get comfortable and then close their eyes. Ask them to begin to take very long, deep breaths. Have them breathe in and out slowly until they do not have to work at it. At this point, you are ready to move on. You should pay close attention to the breathing and body language of your subject at all times. Beware of shallow or rapid breathing.

Have them imagine all of their worries washing away like waves on the ocean. They must not let anything that is bothering them or preoccupying them enter their stream of consciousness. Tell them to clear their minds of anything that have been troubling them.

Tell your subject to imagine a long, heavy length of chain, as large as their body. Beginning with their toes and slowly working their way up there body, have them imagine that they are becoming that chain. Have them imagine themselves sinking through the floor and becoming heavy and relaxed.

Once you have gotten them so comfortable that they are under your spell, you can do whatever task you set forward to do. This is just one way how to do hypnosis. You should never attempt to put someone under hypnosis if they are agitated or depressed. - 31857
